More Milestones...

Ansley must be in a hurry to grow up. She is in the process of cutting her first tooth and she is officially rolling over now. We had thought she was teething because of the constant drooling and gnawing on her hands, but she took the drool to a whole new level this weekend. And you know something’s going on when she doesn’t want her pacifier because she’s chewing on her fingers. At one point this weekend she decided to give my fingers a try. Ansley likes to hold on to my fingers, so she had my pinky in one hand and my thumb in the other (we do this often) and the next thing I know she is pulling my hand towards her and has her mouth open. She the proceeds to gnaw on my thumb. Fortunately my sister had her iPhone handy to capture the moment. We got a good look in her mouth this weekend and you can definitely see a little white spot. If you rub her gums (especially on that one particular side) she just kind of glazes over and zones out, just like a dog does when you scratch the right spot :)

As for the rolling over, I had caught her several times on the couch working her legs trying to get over and we knew as soon as she decided she really wanted to, she was strong enough to roll over. (she prefers to be upright in her bumpo or standing so she isn’t in a position to roll over often) Ansley sleeps with one of those sleep wedge/positioners to keep her on her back and at 5 something Sunday morning I hear her fussing. She had somehow managed to get herself over one of the side wedges and was laying half in and half out. (Needless to say we have since stopped using that) My mom put her down for a nap later that morning on her stomach only to find her later on her side.

I am proud of my little girl and the progress she is making, but it really is sad how quickly she’s growing up.
