Diva's 1st Dentist Appointment

Ansley had her first big dentist appointment today.  She came with me to my last one so that she could get an idea of what was going to happen.  It also helps that her cousin, Terri, is a hygienist at the practice :) 

They cleaned my teeth first so Ansley took that opportunity to chat up the dentist.  She literally talked the whole time they cleaned my teeth.  Then it was her turn.  She climbed right up in the chair like a big girl.



Terri gave her a set of oversized teeth to hold and brush while she cleaned Ansley's teeth.



I'm proud to say my girl was a CHAMP.  She opened her mouth wide and did exactly what she was told.  Her teeth looked great, there was a only a slight issue with the enamel on her back molars.  Apparently the enamel didn't form correctly in utero.  The dentist said that all it took was for me to get sick and spike a fever when the teeth were forming and that would cause it.  Craziness.  But my girl is doing a great job brushing.  She got to pick a prize (bouncy ball) and a certificate for a free ice cream cone at Chick-fil-a for her good behavior. 

Later tonight she found her gloves, put them on, and pretended to be Mrs Terri while she inspected my teeth.  I'd say our first trip to the dentist was a success.
