The Pink Pig

Atlanta's Pink Pig made it's debut in 1953 at Macy's at Lennox. It is an Atlanta Christmas tradition that we wanted to get in on so me, Ansley, mom and Hudson made our inaugural visit this year.

It is a huge white tent outside of the Macy's entrance.

You buy your ticket inside the mall and then walk past Priscilla the Pig herself. As much as she fears Santa, Ansley was all about chatting up the pig. I don't have any pictures of Ansley with Priscilla because they charge a pretty penny for a picture, and Ansley wouldn't actually sit in her lap, she just wanted to stand next to her and talk to her. The inside of the tent is covered in pink lights.

The original train is on display.

Nana and Ansley waiting in line...

...and Hudson waiting his turn.

Ansley and I, with Shelley and Hudson sitting right behind us. Nana was sitting in front of us taking pictures.

The ride was Ansley's first introduction to anything resembling a roller coaster so I wasn't sure how she would handle it but this was perfect. It was probably a 4 minute ride and it didn't do any crazy turns. You went around the tent twice listening to a narrated story about Priscilla.

She had so much fun.

Hudson, obviously very impressed with his first experience with the pig :)

For me the holidays are an opportunity to spend time with family and to create memories and traditions.

We will definitely be back next year.
