The Big Day

I love birthdays and will look for any reason to celebrate them or make a big deal out of them.  Since we had Ansley's birthday party earlier in the month, Josh took the day off and we made a day out of the actual day.  It started with Ansley waking up to a room filled with balloons and me singing Happy Birthday.

Then we got ready and let Ansley open up her present.  Her big present from us was a trip to the aquariam but we got her something special to open.

She was really excited about her new bible.

Then we loaded up and went to Daddy D's for a big breakfast.

One of the joys of parenting is seeing the world thru your kid's eyes and share their excitement as they explore the world.  Based on Ansley reaction to the fish at Walmart and Pet Smart, I knew the aquarium would be a hit.

I was right.  She LOVED it.

We spent quality time in front of the main ocean exhibit.  There were plenty of fish for Ansley to look at, and her mom is a little obsessed with the whale sharks.

The touching pools were a bit of a challenge for Ansley.

She loved being this close to the sharks and rays, but her arms weren't long enough to reach down in and actually touch the fish.

And then we found the anemone display.  They were close enough to the surface she could reach.

We went back to the "sticky fish" a few times.

Lunch at the aquarium.

You have to take a picture in front of the fish.

I loved seeing Ansley run around aquarium, so excited and ooh-ing and ahh-ing over each new fish.  We will definitely be coming back.

All her enthusiam wore her out.

We finished off the day with dinner at home and cupcakes.

It was the perfect birthday celebration for our precious 3 year old.
